Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms," "Agreement") carefully before using Print Chat ("the Service," "we," "us," or "our") operated at printchat.app.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.

1. Description of Service

Print Chat is a web-based tool that converts WhatsApp and other chat archive files into formatted PDF documents. The Service operates using client-side processing technology, meaning your chat files are processed entirely within your web browser and are never uploaded to our servers.

2. Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information.
• Maintain the security of your account credentials.
• Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access to your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

3. Credit System and Purchases

3.1 How Credits Work

Print Chat operates on a prepaid credit system:

• Free Credits: New accounts may receive complimentary credits for trial purposes.
• Standard Credits: Enable full PDF exports with all basic features.
• Pro Credits: Enable premium features including media embedding, Bates stamping, and clickable media links.

Each credit allows you to export one unique chat file. The file is identified by its cryptographic hash (SHA-256 fingerprint), which is generated locally on your device.

3.2 Free Re-Exports

Once you have used a credit to export a specific file, you may re-export that same file unlimited times at no additional cost. This includes exporting in different formats (Legal Transcript and WhatsApp bubble styles). Re-export eligibility is verified by matching the file's cryptographic hash against your purchase history.

3.3 Credit Validity

Purchased credits do not expire and remain in your account until used. Credits are non-transferable between accounts.

3.4 Pricing

Current pricing is displayed at https://printchat.app/pricing. We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect credits already purchased.

4. Payment Terms and Merchant of Record

4.1 Payment Processing

When you make a purchase on Print Chat, you are entering into a transaction with Paddle.com Market Limited (for customers outside the USA) or Paddle.com Inc. (for customers in the USA), who acts as the seller of record. Paddle handles:

• Payment processing and billing
• Tax calculation and compliance (VAT, sales tax, etc.)
• Invoice generation
• Refund processing
• Customer payment inquiries

4.2 Payment Methods

We accept major credit cards, PayPal, and other payment methods as supported by Paddle. Print Chat does not directly collect, process, or store your payment card information. All payment data is handled securely by Paddle in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

4.3 Taxes

All applicable taxes (VAT, sales tax, GST, etc.) are calculated and collected by Paddle based on your location, in compliance with local tax regulations. Paddle ensures full tax compliance in over 200 countries.

5. Refund Policy

5.1 Eligibility

If you are not satisfied with Print Chat for any reason, you are entitled to a full refund within 14 days of your purchase. This applies regardless of whether you have used your credits.

5.2 How to Request a Refund

Contact support@printchat.app to initiate the process. Refunds are processed by Paddle and returned to your original payment method.

5.3 Processing Time

Once a refund is initiated, it typically takes 3-5 business days to appear in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider.

6. User Content and Responsibility

6.1 Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the chat files and content you process using our Service ("User Content"). Since User Content is processed locally and never transmitted to us, we do not claim any rights to it.

6.2 Lawful Use

You represent and warrant that:

• You have the legal right to access and process the User Content.
• Your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
• You will not use the Service to process content obtained illegally or without proper authorization.
• You will not use the Service to create fraudulent or misleading documents.

6.3 Sensitive Content

You acknowledge that chat archives may contain sensitive personal information. You are solely responsible for handling exported PDFs appropriately and in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

7. Legal Admissibility Disclaimer

While we design our Service to produce high-quality, accurately formatted documents with forensic features (such as Bates stamping), acceptance of these documents as evidence is at the discretion of the relevant legal authority.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Property

The Service, including its original content, features, functionality, branding, and underlying technology, is owned by Print Chat and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.

8.3 Restrictions

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service.
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels.
• Use the Service to build a competing product.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without authorization.

9. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Infringe upon the rights of others.
• Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers.
• Engage in any form of automated data collection without permission.
• Impersonate any person or entity.
• Create fraudulent, forged, or misleading documents.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
• FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
• NON-INFRINGEMENT
• ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF CONTENT

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PRINT CHAT AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Personal injury or property damage
• Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service
• Any conduct or content of third parties
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Print Chat and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your User Content

13. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

14. Term and Termination

14.1 Term

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Service.

14.2 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@printchat.app. Unused credits will be forfeited upon account termination unless you request a refund within the 14-day refund window.

14.3 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

14.4 Effect of Termination

Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law shall survive termination.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Print Chat operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Print Chat regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
